A Man With a Vision
Recovering from the 2008 financial crisis motivated Andy Stearns to find a new path. Looking for a different way to build a company that could weather another financial storm, should it arise, he saw an opportunity to revisit an old passion for real estate with a fresh perspective.
In 2011 Andy purchased a small vacation rental company in Bend, Oregon and diversified it, adding real estate management and long-term rentals to the mix. Within just a few months he had created a sustainable and thriving company, doing what he loves.

Meet the Team
Andy Stearns
Owner/Principal Broker
Licensed in the state of Oregon
A man who wears many hats. But not at the same time, of course. It’s one thing to be a jack of many trades. To be a master of them as well takes a lifelong concerted effort. And that’s exactly what Andy Stearns is all about. A native of Scarsdale, NY, Andy attended Kenyon College in Gambier, OH for two years, before moving to the Northwest. In 1989, he spent a life-changing semester at the National Outdoor Leadership School. Shortly after that, he moved to the northwest and started rebuilding homes. Since then he has moved to Bend working as a carpenter, general contractor and most recently, property manager, generating a long list of happy (and lucky) clients, tenants and co-workers. Loving all of those jobs—and the various clients and subcontractors he came in contact with—led him to establish My Lucky House, which allows him to wear all of the many different hats associated with buying, selling, renting and repairing homes.
Shari Ballard
Operations Manager/Managing Principal Broker
Licensed in the state of Oregon
Shari has been in property management for over 35 years, and has been a licensed Principal Broker in the State of Oregon for the past 17 years. Having spent many years in Kauai working with various rental companies, Shari has a vast knowledge of managing all aspects of vacation rental properties. Since moving to Bend in 2002, Shari has expanded into long term, multi-family and furnished monthly rentals. Shari joined My Lucky House in November of 2015 as Operations Manager and Managing Principal Broker. Shari is married and has 3 grown sons, 4 granddaughters and a wiener dog named Lucy.
Marla
Controller
Marla was born and raised in Bend, Oregon. She grew up learning to drive every tractor imaginable, and she now has 10 adult children and 7 grandchildren. She loves everything outdoors, and she is an accomplished quilter, quilt designer, and Longarm quilter. She has won best of show and first place in several shows. Marla has worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing semiconductors, the cellular business, health insurance, and brewing. Bringing 25 years of experience in HR and Accounting, she is now helping My Lucky House grow to further Andy’s vision for the company.
